Piper at the Gates of the Coffee Plantation

Dennis is the sunset bagpiper at Mallory Square. He's been piping the sun down for almost 10 years. He stopped in for a cup of our fine 100% Colombian coffee yesterday before heading down to the waterfront.

I remember seeing Dennis Riley in episode 11, "Compadres", of the Fox tv series "Key West". That was aired in June of 1993 (filmed in 1992). I've since been to Key West a few times, and have met and spoken with him a couple of times. He's one of the good guys, and it hurts to see him treated this way. Hopefully, those evil-doers will get what is coming to them!

Hey Dennis,

I miss ya. Your mugshot doesn't do you justice, but at least I can write you now. I'm sorry about the "incident" but I know you'll be making the girls smile and cry (at the same moment) before to long. You made it ok to be me in 2004. You were my friend and I didn't think much of myself at that time. Somehow, you made it better. On the upside, I can write you a letter now. I once asked a Key West police officer what it took to be arrested in Key West. He replied, "Well, we don't allow murder." I love ya Dennis. The police need to find something better to do. Hang in there and I'll send along a letter soon. Please email me if you wish.
